Dismantle. Rebuild. Reimagine. - Sparking the builder in every child.
The Little Innovators Workshop (LIW) is grounded in the "Dismantle. Rebuild. Reimagine." philosophy. Children are given everyday objects, tools and materials - and the freedom to take them apart, understand how they work, and reimagine them as something entirely new.
LIW draws from Novel Engineering methodology - an approach that uses children's literature and familiar objects as the starting point for engineering design. Children learn to identify problems, brainstorm solutions, build prototypes, and present their inventions across different school and community settings.
We believe every child is a natural engineer. LIW creates the space for that instinct to flourish across different classrooms, schools and communities.
Children break down familiar objects and systems - developing curiosity and understanding of how things work at a fundamental level.
With guidance and creativity, children reconstruct and improve what they've dismantled - applying engineering thinking and iterative design.
The final challenge: take what you've learned and create something new that solves a real problem or serves a new purpose.
After building LIW across different school communities, SEN held its first Kumasi LIW this year at Victory Bible Church, bringing the "Dismantle. Rebuild. Reimagine." experience to the Ashanti Region.
We are still open to school and community partners in Kumasi, Greater Accra and other regions who want to host practical STEM experiences for young learners.
